Frequently Asked Questions

General

How do I contact Blue Sky to learn more?

Schedule a FREE, no-obligation 60-minute call by filling in the form on this page so we can discuss your current situation, outline where you want to be and explore ways we can get you to that destination.

How long will my commitment be?

In our experience, it takes a minimum of 6 months to begin to effect the kinds of organizational changes that create lasting habits and processes. Our standard agreement is for a minimum of 6 months with an option to renew by the client thereafter for a “month to month” or longer “90 day” or “180 Day” term based on our rates in effect at that time. Both parties have the right to cancel after 6 months with 30 days written notice.

What does a consulting engagement cost?

The number of hours required in the identification and Investigation phases will be determined by the number and type of issues we are addressing. We will provide you with a fixed fee quote for each of these steps in our Scope of Work Agreement. We generally can expect to have a lot more interaction and working sessions during these initial phases.

The implementation phase is more predictable. We will conduct weekly meetings for up to 60 minutes, to review progress towards our milestones, identify new issues that may arise during the process. Our meetings will be scheduled for the same time block each week. Clients are expected to make our meeting when scheduled. Cancelled meetings will not be rescheduled.

Process

Do you offer one on one coaching to key team members?

If you or any team members desire one-on-one coaching, these services are available and will be quoted and arranged separately from our consulting engagement. Weekly coaching calls are typically 45 minutes in duration and can cover both personal and professional development. Our coaching assignments require a 6-month minimum commitment and are conducted by telephone.

How do we measure results?

Using our proprietary Flight Planning tool, as we are working together to gather information in the identification and investigation phases, we begin to complete the various milestones we want to achieve along our journey to your final destination which is where you want your company to be, which we agree upon in our initial discussion.

We will check our progress and make sure we are staying on course every 4th phone call.

How will our consulting meetings be conducted?

The majority of our assignments are conducted via video conferences, using video conferencing software that is free for you and compatible with all computers, operating systems, and devices.

In-person meetings at your location can be arranged at your request, in which case appropriate and reasonable travel charges will apply.

In addition, we will utilize a secure and private online discussion and collaboration system for written communication during the course of the engagement. Our current system of choice is Trello, but we will certainly consider other options if you would like us to.

Who from my organization can participate in your program?

We always defer to you, the business owner, as to which team members should participate in these sessions. That said, we have learned from experience that when more team members are vested in the process, the better the results. Team members who are actively involved in the process are more likely to understand and embrace the plan, the process, and changes that will be necessary to eliminate the barriers to growth we identify. My preference is to limit the group size to 6.

Three Pillars of a Successful Exit Plan

January 12, 2021 By //  by Christina LoBiondo

Three Pillars of a Successful Exit Plan     The decision to sell your business or take on an outside investor is not a singular event, but an ongoing strategic process defined as Exit Planning.  Most business owners avoid preparing an exit plan because they do not have a clear understanding of the process, or …

Do I really need an Exit Plan?

July 27, 2020 By //  by Joe Gitto

Do I really need an Exit Plan?   “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”. This quote has been widely attributed to Benjamin Franklin and has endured for hundreds of years. I would like to add a third certainty to this phrase; “at some point you WILL exit …
